Mahatma Gandhi was a great and powerful leader of India. His full name is Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi. Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi was an Indian lawyer.
His Father’s name is Karamchand Uttamchand Gandhi. His father was a Diwan at Rajkot. His mother Putlibai Gandhi was a homemaker.
Mahatma Gandhi was born at Porbandar in Gujrat on 2nd October 1869. The name of Mahatma was given to Gandhi Ji by Rabindranath Tagore.
His birthday on 2nd October is commemorated as Gandhi Jayanti and worldwide as the International Day of non-violence.
He was a good student with a shy nature. As he grew up, he went to England to study, soon become a barrister.
When he returned to India, he began practicing law a the Bombay high court. Then he went to South Africa to practice law. But he was not interested in the legal profession.
Personal life :-
In May 1883, the 13-year-old Mohandas was married to 14-year-old Kasturba Makhanji Kapadia.

Mahatma Gandhi liberates the country from the chains of slavery through various movements, laying the foundation of the principle of “Ahinsa Parmo Dharma”.
He was a good politician as well as a great orator. The word spoken by him is still used by the people. He made many movements against British rule.

Gandhi Ji was shot and killed by Nathuram Godse at Birla Bhavan in Delhi on the evening of 30 January 1948. Seven people including Nathuram were convicted of the murder. It was the moment of sorrows of country.
